KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has agreed to set up an integrity and governance unit at all government-linked companies, and state and ministry-owned business entities under the supervision of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

 

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the move was to strengthen the business confidence in Malaysia.

 

“The government has, in principle agreed to establish an integrity and governance unit at all GLCs, and state and ministry-owned business entities, under the supervision of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, precisely to strengthen the confidence all can, should, and do have in Malaysia,” Najib said.

 

“The business community wants the certainty of knowing that the Government is committed to the necessary reforms, and is committed to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and to transparency, accountability, and good regulation,” he said during his keynote address at the 13th Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (IMKL) here .
